An Unforgettable Rendezvous with Senator Faisal Javed Khan

Theodore Roosevelt the 26th U.S President once said that the most practical kind of politics is the politics of decency.  Since most of us are of the view that there is a global politics of selfishness so the popular opinion suggests that many political actors are motivated with selfish and shortsighted concerns. However, we still have some extraordinary politicians who continue to be a source of encouragement for others by relentlessly doing well. Senator Faisal Javed needs no introduction for being a fine gentleman who began his career as a radio personality and later became an elected member of the Senate. Currently he is diligently pursuing an effective global campaign in order to create dams in Pakistan. . Recently team YOLO had an unforgettable rendezvous with the Fabulous Faisal Javed and this is what he has to say.

What inspired you to join politics?

My affiliation and association with Imran Khan has been of paramount importance in making me enter politics. When I joined PTI back in 1996 I was quiet young however even at that age I was much inspired by Imran Khan’s political philosophy. Therefore, I was convinced that Imran Khan was different from the rest of the politicians.

After years of struggle PTI has finally emerged as the country’s ruling party. When was it that your party first experienced its breakthrough suggesting that one day it will become a huge political force?

On 30th October 2008 there was a large PTI gathering in Lahore which turned out to be a breakthrough for PTI. Then on 25th December 2011 a sea of people was out to support PTI in Karachi which made us determine that this party will one day rule the roost.

Do you still socialize with acquaintances and friends?

Since my routine is very hectic I have no time to socialize but I still manage to make time for old friends.

You have been given the titles Voice of PTI and Voice of the youth how does that make you feel?

It is because of the affection of the general public that I am called the voice of PTI and the voice of youth. My training actually began from radio but it was Imran Khan who first trusted me. The radio has trained me therefore I am able to stimulate, encourage and energize large crowds.  Radio has been beneficial in grooming many celebrities. There are many celebrities whose careers began in radio but later they turned out to be remarkable in other mediums of entertainment.

Did you ever think that one day you would became a member of the senate?

No, I never planned on becoming a senator. It is because of Imran Khan that I have reached this level. It is due to the support and motivation of Imran Khan that I have come so far.

Being a public figure how do you deal with criticism does it makes you angry?

Yes, I do come across criticism and of course it causes annoyance but still I calm myself and maintain my cool.

Do you listen to music and what kind of music do you like?

I like listening to slow and soft classical music. I like listening to Akhtar Begum and Pathane Khan besides that Junoon and Vital Signs are my all-time favorites.

Who is your favorite actor?

Late Shafi Mohammad Shah and Nauman Ejaz are my all-time favorite actors.

Do you watch films and when was the last time that you watched a film?

I do watch movies and the film that I watched lately was Main Punjab nahi jaungi which I enjoyed very much.
