5 must have local cosmetic brands
With many high-end foreign make up brands now available in Pakistan we often find ourselves struggling with our pockets because we all know it for a fact that no matter how good their formula is they are not budget friendly at all. Many a times we end up buying these products online without testing it on our skins first so we do not really have an idea of whether they would complement our skin tones or not. We are often biased when it comes to our makeup brand choices and prefer foreign brands over Pakistani brands. Well, not anymore because we have listed down some Pakistani make up brands that we can swear by not only because they are dirt cheap but also because they have amazing formula, suit our skin tones and are made to suit Pakistani weather condition too.
There is a reason why your mom still prefers Medora. This local brand from Swat offers lipsticks that are highly pigmented and are available in matt, semi matte and glossy formulae. Medora has a wide range of shades available and you might be able to find dupes of foreign brands in their collection. These are extremely pocket friendly, priced a Rupees 110 each and are available in all supermarkets.
Another local brand to swear by for its lip products, Clazona 24 hour matte lip gloss is magic in a bottle. These lip glosses are actually liquid lipsticks with amazing staying power. The formula does not budge no matter what. From nudes to deep berries, these have quite a variety of shades available. Easy on the pocket, Clazona lip glosses are Rupees 150 each.
This Pakistani brand is popular for its nail polishes and lip colours but they have a complete range of makeup products from eye shadows to highlighters, blushes, mascara and what not to offer. All of these products are of decent quality and have dirt cheap prices starting from Rupees 75.
Founded in 2004, Christine products are skin friendly and Halal. While they have a wide range of makeup products to offer, Christine is popular for its highly pigmented nail paints and lipsticks. Christine has an array of lipstick shades available and they stay on for long hours. Their nail paints are equally as good. Starting at Rupees 60, Christine products are a must have.
A wee bit on the expensive side, Mussarat Misbah is the holy grail of makeup products. Their foundation created hype all over Pakistan even before it was introduced. The reason is simple, they are made to suit the South Asian skin tones and take care of the humidity that we have here in Pakistan. As per their claim they are the only Halal certified cosmetic brand of Pakistan. Their silk foundation provides a flawless finish and suits oily skin like anything else. They also have pressed powder, blush and lipsticks to offer.
